Now Available: LION KILLER Sees Redemption And Romance Grapple With Tragedy And Turmoil

Indie Rights is home to a boatload of rare titles, one of which includes Black Scar Blues from director Leroy Nguyen, which happens to be one of my personal favorites.

Anyway, I stumbled on the company’s label this morning while sifting through e-mails, eventually coming across writer and director Derrick Fury’s Lion Killer, which has a trailer, and is actually already available through Indie Rights’ SVOD service.

After the death of his mentor, Michael splits with his business partner, leaving him broke and the sole owner of a struggling Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy. With little hope left he meets Noelle, a domestic abuse survivor who challenges him to see the world through fresh eyes. These two battered souls must now grapple with their demons separately if they have a chance at a better life together.

The trailer looks as exquisite as it feels as a proper introspective MMA drama akin to the likes of Redbelt (that one always takes me back). Lion Killer looks like a quality piece of work worth the rental price, so if you have five bucks and maybe a few hours to spare, head over to Indie Rights and give it a shot.

Lion Killer stars Matthew Meehan,
Regina Ting Chen, Dave McClain and Rianne Rivadeneira.
