Since I discovered the cinema of the group of comedians known in France as “La Bande a Fifi“, each new project they have announced has raised great expectations in me. The group formed in 2005 as part of “Le Grand Journal”, a successful entertainment television program, soon successfully  transitioned into the world of theater and cinema  with films such as the “Babysitting” and “Alibi.com” duologies, or the excellent live-action adaptation of the “City Hunter” manga, “Nicky Larson et la parfum de cupidon”, all directed and starring by the ineffable Philippe Lacheau.

“Only 3 days left” (3 jours Max) is the sequel to “30 jours Max”, both directed and starred by Tarek Boudali, supported by the rest of the “Le Bande a Fifi“, the film continues with the misadventures of Rayane (Tarouk Boudali), a clumsy police officer from Paris, who after the unexpected success of his adventure in the previous film, in which with the help of his companions he managed to put a dangerous Mexican drug trafficker behind bars, has begun his training to enter into the French secret service, however, the cartel that he harmed in the previous film, returns to complicate his existence by kidnapping his grandmother, forcing him to reunite his old team again for a clumsy rescue misssion.

Following the pattern established by this comic group, the film is another incessantly fast-paced adventure with an international flavor, where tributes to recent action films such as “Taken“, “Fast and the Furious” or “Mission Impossible” are interspersed with nods to more classic sagas such as “Indiana Jones“, and even they dared to spoof forgettable films such as Terminator 3… Everything results in an action comedy that does not give the viewer any respite, full of moments of frenetic action, with a remarkable stunt work, impregnated with that hooligan humor that has no compassion with the insufferable wave of political correctness that comes to us from Hollywood…

The reviews in its native country have not been very favorable, but films like this that work effectively as a perfect escape entertainment that makes  forget the mundane miseries, always deserve to be appreciated… And besides, what the hell?! There’s no reason why to find  excuses for having a good time, this movie is  hella fun!!

The film had a limited release in North American theaters on May 17, and is now available on Blu-Ray.
