PLAY THE EDGE Cranks Up, Announces Cast For New Holiday Crime Thriller

Writer/director Peter Horgan is rolling cameras on his Cape Cod set in Chatham, Massachusetts for new holiday crime thriller, Play the Edge. The film marks his second turn at the helm after 2023’s How To Rob, which world premiered at IFFBoston, and released in North America by Good Deed Entertainment’s Cranked Up Films, and by Nicely Entertainment’s Darkly Entertainment for international.


Horgan directs Play the Edge from his own script which follows a recently demoted pizza chef who sets his boss up for a robbery on Christmas Eve. Thirty minutes before the armed robbers arrive, he hits the lottery. What happens when he tries to slam the brakes on a half-brained plan that’s already too far in motion?

The cast is led by 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards nominee Liz Larsen (The Baltimorons, Mr. Robot) alongside Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul, Sugar), Zack Robidas (Succession, Dying for Sex), Lance A. Williams (Don’t Look Up, Equalizer 2), Katie Silverman (New Girl, PEN15) and Josh Koopman (Earlybird, American Hustle)

AFI alum Becca E. Davis is producing alongside Mike Hansen and Kathrene Gawel. Ian Brownell (The Dead Thing, On These Grounds) is exec producing next to Todd Remis (Under the Silver Lake), Larsen and Robidas. Mike Hechanova of Urban Mouse Productions is attached as cinematographer. The film is set at the historic Chatham Orpheum movie theater, in partnership with Pizza Shark Inc.

Larsen is repped by Danielle DeLawder at CESD Talent Agency, Boutsikaris is repped by Gregg A. Klein and Chip Hooley at AKA Artists, Robidas is repped by Cassandra Tay at Buchwald, Williams is repped by Mike Griffin at Luber Roklin Entertainment and Arise Artists, and Silverman is repped by Bonnie Shumofsky at Stewart Talent and Sherry Kayne at Rebel Creative Group.
