Spun helmer Jonas Åkerlund is still in the game and even closer with the upcoming January 25 release of his newest graphic novel actioner, Polar. Entertainment Weekly lit up the interwebs on Monday morning providing an exclusive look at the official trailer and poster host to a cast led by Mads Mikkelsen in fine form as a grisled former hitman pulled back into the fray – Based on Victor Santos’ 2012 graphic novel publication.
The world’s top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser (Mads Mikkelsen), is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.
Premiering on Netflix beginning January 25, the film also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick, Matt Lucas, Ruby O. Fee, Fei Ren, Anthony Grant, Josh Cruddas, Robert Maillet, Julian Richings, Johnny Knoxville, and Richard Dreyfuss.
