Got a half-hour to spare? Actor, stunt performer and professional Prateek Parmar is out with a new action comedy he’s put together called Punchnama, or Anatomy Of An Action Hero which you can now check out on his YouTube channel.
Here, Parmar lampoons himself in the titular role of a fourth wall-breaking food deliveryman with aspirations of becoming an action hero. Emboldened by comic books and walls full of posters of his favorite martial arts cinema laureates, his dreams take a turn when he challenges a room full of goons in defense of a helpless woman.
Additionally, the shortfilm includes a cameo appearance by director Vasan Bala with whom Parmar previously collaborated as co-star in 2018’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, a.k.a. The Man Who Feels No Pain. There’s an end sequence as well that alludes to an even greater story that could be told, in which case this is likely being setup as a proof for a feature film or a webseries. I can’t say for certain either way, but I’m open to whatever prospects there are here.
