If ever you needed an excuse to subscribe to Well Go USA’s exclusive streaming service, Hi-YAH!, then you needn’t look any further this week with the streamer’s announcement for an October 22 launch of Donnie Yen actioner, Raging Fire. The streamer itself is a pretty sweet deal at three U.S. dollars a month with a raft of its own titles, some of which aren’t available anywhere else, and the addition of late director Benny Chan’s final film to the catalogue makes this affair only sweeter.

Raging Fire was released in the U.S. on August 19, following its China release on July 30 and subsequent in-person premieres at the 25th Fantasia International Film Festival, and the 20th New York Asian Film Festival. The film stars Donnie Yen (S.P.L., Flashpoint) as a member of the Regional Crime Unit who sets ablaze to the criminal underbelly in search of a gang of mercenaries terrorizing police following a drug bust gone awry. What he doesn’t realize just yet is that the gang could very well be ex-members of his own unit, led by his former mentee, played by Nicholas Tse (2002, Invisible Target). The film also stars Ben Lam, Ray Lui, Patrick Tam, Qin Lan, Ken Lo and Simon Yam, among others.

Raging Fire currently stands at $159.1 million at worldwide box office earnings, backed by mixed and mostly positive reviews from critics. Our NYAFF review of the film can be found here, along with a review here by Jacques Karavasilis who attended the film’s in-person Fantasia premiere at the Imperial Theatre in Montreal.
