RAGING FIRE To Open For The 19th London East Asian Film Festival

This year’s installment of the London East Asian Film Festival has a pretty remarkable line-up to showcase for attendees long ahead of its ten-day launch from October 21. As of Friday, the latest addition to the roster now stands to open things up in festive fashion with Donnie Yen headliner, Raging Fire, set to premiere on opening day.

Other titles from the festival’s various sections have had runs at other events and have left quiet the mark, including Vietnamese urban survival drama, Rôm, directed by Tran Than Huy, and LV Huizhou’s Pistol as part of the Competition section, as well as official selections like Mez Tharatorn’s The Con-Heartist, Ko Chien-nien’s Taiwanese Horror The Silent Forest, and Chan Kin-long’s Hand Rolled Cigarette screening for the Hong Kong Focus among others.

The big closer this year will be Korean body-swapping action thriller, Spiritwalker, which also screened in-person for this year’s New York Asian Film Festival.

There’s more info at the official website, while Raging Fire all but certifies that folks keen on supporting the festival will have nothing short of a blast. Jacques Karavasilis and I screened the film for seperate festivals and you can find our respective review links here and here, while TrinCity CineAsia plots a course for the film’s November 12 release in UK cinemas, followed by a DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital rollout from January 10 next year.
