REDEMPTION DAY: Gary Dourdan Stars In The New Action Thriller Arriving In January

News was slow to come in roughly the past year-and-a-half since we first spotted some BTS footage for writer and director Hicham Hajji’s geopolitical action thriller, Redemption Day. That all changed at some point when Saban Films acquired U.S. distribution rights and now we’ve got ourselves a trailer that brings actor Gary Dourdan back into the fray for his latest return to the screen.

Having just returned home, decorated U.S. Marine Captain Brad Paxton’s (Gary Dourdan) wife, Kate, is kidnapped by a terrorist group while working in Morocco. He is forced back into action for a daring and deadly operation to save the woman he loves.

It’s not often I get to promote a film with an actor as underrated as Dourdan is, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of him into the new year.

Redemption Day also stars Serinda Swan, Martin Donovan, Ernie Hudson, Samy Naceri and Andy Garcia, from a script Hajji wrote with screenwriter Sam Chouia. The film opens in select theaters next year from January 8, followed by an on-demand and digital rollout on January 12.
