RIKI-OH: THE STORY OF RICKY Star Is Back For ONE MORE SHOT

Louis Siu-Wong Fan is not a name that casual action fans know but for diehards and cult cinema aficionados he will always be revered due to the fact that he starred in one of the goriest (and silliest) Hong Kong martial arts films ever produced- RIKI-OH: THE STORY OF RICKY.

This 1991 exploitation flick (based on a popular Japanese Manga and Anime) is one of the earliest examples of a clip going viral as one of its gorier moments (pictured below) was used for years on the Comedy Central television program THE DAILY SHOW.

Here is the original “Golden Harvest” trailer:

Siu-Wong didn’t fade into obscurity after the film’s success but he never quite reached the level of stardom that seemed possible after RIKI-OH. He just kept working hard in the Chinese film and television industry, appearing in various projects over the next three decades. Some of the noteworthy things he has popped up in include: IP MAN 1 & 2, KUNG FU KILLER (aka KUNG FU JUNGLE), FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE, and WU DANG.

His latest one though, sees him return to a lead role in what appears to be another ultra-violent, sci fi-tinged, action film titled ONE MORE SHOT. Here is the recently released teaser poster for it:

And the trailer:

Unfortunately, my Mandarin/Cantonese is sorely lacking so I can’t tell you what the trailer is actually about but the action on display looks top notch. The film debuts in China on September 17th and when it becomes available to English-speaking audiences, we will definitely let you know!
