Sammo Hung Hails THE RETURN OF THE LUCKY STARS At Filmart! | Film Combat Syndicate
Having recently returned to the fray with his latest helmer, My Beloved Bodyguard and once more in front of the camera with the forthcoming God Of War among others, action legend Sammo Hung took to Filmart to announce his latest venture into international sales via Sammo Hung Films. The new banner includes a slate of exciting projects and the biggest of them currently stands with ensemble revival, The Return Of The Lucky Stars, according to news forwarded by AMP. The film series became a signature establishment in Hong Kong action movies hailing from Golden Harvest with Winners & Sinners at first with Hung starring as one of a ragtag group of ex-cons and a beautiful woman who open up a clean-up company and find themselves in the throes of gangsters. Hung topped the original crowd next to the likes of Richard Ng, John Sham, Charlie Chin and Stanley Fung for the initial trilogy which finished with My Lucky Stars and Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Stars while cameos and later films would include notables such as Eric Tsang, Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao and Michelle Yeoh with Dick Wei, Kurata Yasuaki, Corey Yuen, Mark Houghton and Bolo Yeung also appearing before presumably ending in 1996. Others in the SH Films slate include I-Ching Warriors, The Detrimental Protectors, Back to School, Silk Road, To Catch a Killer and Operation: Ground Zero. Hung recently completed choreography work reteaming with Wilson Yip for the new movie, Paradox starring Louis Koo and Tony Jaa.
