SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK Teases New Lana Del Rey Track In The Newest Trailer

CBS Films and eOne proudly presented their newest trailer for André Øvredal’s Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. Marketing for the new horror spectacle is now also host to the latest incarnation of Donovan’s 1966 hit song, “Season of the Witch”, re-recorded by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey.

The new song itself premieres on August 9 next to the film, selected as the film itself takes place two years after the song’s debut on Donovan’s album, Sunshine Superman. Based on the series by Alvin Schwartz, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark centers on a group of teenagers who journey to a chilling mansion on the edge of town – once home to a young girl who authored her own book of timeless, twisted tales inspired by her own tortured life.

Øvredal directs from a script by Dan and Kevin Hageman, and a screen story by Patrick Melton, Marcus Dunstan, and the venerable Guillermo del Toro who also produces. del Toro scores own star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday with Lana Del Rey also in attendance.

“I have admired Lana’s music for a while now and felt in my gut that she would run with ‘Season of the Witch’ – that she would use her alchemy to transform it,” said del Toro. “She is a great artist and has been an amazing partner with us in this adventure. It is an honor for me to have met her.”

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn. Also producing are Sean Daniel, Jason F. Brown, J. Miles Dale and Elizabeth Grave.
