Screamfest 2020 Review: YOU WOULDN’T UNDERSTAND, But Imagine A Really, Really Long Picnic Day…

One of the most enjoyable things about attending a film festival (virtual or in-person) is being able to see the short films (of late, Nightstream, which ran from October 8th til the 11th, offered a variety of films and shorts. This time around I was able to screen a quirky little gem called You Wouldn’t Understand ahead of its Screamfest 2020 premiere.

The difficult part of a short is, well, it’s short. A person can have a big idea that needs to be condensed down to a few minutes. Is there enough for the audience to get it? Is there too much?

Trish Harnetiaux’s You Wouldn’t Understand is nine minutes well spent. It’s exactly what it is labeled as: both science fiction and comedy. There is wine, there is a field, there’s horsey sauce, oh, and a plot. I can’t really tell you what it is about because well, you wouldn’t understand. But if you check it out you will not be disappointed.
