The official social media page for Shane Kosugi’s 四十九-SEEK has unveiled the latest teaser poster treatment for its upcoming sequel, Seek II: The Unsung Scars. The poster also teases the return of lead actor Kansuke Asano and actress Nahana, along with the addition of actor Shogen (December, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist).
Plot details are unknown for the sequel which, per the post below, is teased at the end of the first film. Kosugi makes his debut on the newly released action film a year after coralling as many as 82 awards during its film festival circulation outside Japan, including last year’s installment of TACFEST in Illescas in Spain.
Asano stars in 四十九-SEEK based on a story and concept born from a shortfilm made several years earlier. The feature film follows a widower whose latest task as part of a clandestine organization of ninjas finds him enveloped in a deadly conspiracy involving a government corruption, a terroristic weapon, and a vengeful crimeboss looking to settle the score.
The film is now playing in Japan cinemas from KeyHolder Pictures while a release date and festival premieres remain pending for the sequel. Check out its poster below!
