Lionsgate has acquired the rights to the forthcoming production of espionage action drama, Shadow Force. Deadline‘s Mike Fleming Jr. broke news on the bidding process last month and follows up with his latest update on final talks with the studio.
Billed as a fresh take on the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie 2005 spectacle, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Shadow Force is set to star Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us, Hotel Artemis, upcoming The Rhythm Section) and actress Kerry Washington (TV series Scandal, upcoming American Son and miniseries Little Fires Everywhere).
Brown will also produce with Danielle Reardon under their Indian Meadows banner with Washington producing via Simpson Street alongside Pilar Savone, and Made With Love Media’s Stephen “Dr” Love.
