Director Chee Keong Cheung’s new action thriller, Son Of The Soil, is currently slated for theatrical release in the U.S. this Friday. The project marks the launchpad of Cheung’s Action Xtreme label in 2022 by Soverign, with the label then partnering with Nile Entertainment a few years later for a slew of projects in Africa.
Zion Ladejo, a former Nigerian Special Ops paratrooper, has built a quiet life in exile after a mission gone wrong. When news of his sister’s sudden death forces him back home, he is drawn into a Nigeria battling drugs, corruption and organized crime.
Cheung directs from a script written by British-Nigerian actor Razaaq Adoti (Black Hawk Down, Amistad), who stars. Patience Ozokwo, Iretiola Doyle, Sunshine Rosman, Taye Arimoro, Emeka Golden and Sharon Rotimi also star.
