Following news broken earlier this month with Well Go USA Entertainment’s premium Asian film streamer, Hi-YAH! set to stream the hit South Korean sci-fi thriller, Spiritwalker, City On Fire‘s continued coverage notes the official US release date is finally set for April 12 on Blu-Ray and DVD from Well Go USA accordingly.
That news now brings us overseas tor an official announcement as folks living in the UK can expect a release of their own beginning March 31 on Digital from Trinity CineAsia. The film previously had its London premiere at last year’s London East Asian Film Festival following its exclusive, in-person world premiere at the New York Asian Festival where it scored director Yoon Jae-keun the Daniel A. Craft Award for Excellence In Action Cinema, a Jury award the festival launched in 2013, and has given to such recipients as actress Veronica Ngo (Furie), posthumosly to late stunt professional Panna Rittikrai (Ong Bak), and filmmakers Jung Byung-gil (The Villainess), Yue Song (Iron Protector) and Dante Lam (Operation Red Sea).
“Told with incredible visual panache and dazzling stunt work, the rousing film marks Yoon’s emergence as a brilliant talent in the action-film space”, a statement from last year’s NYAFF announcement reads.
The film is also apparently poised for a reimagining from producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura as of last year, so you can expect the conversation among netizens and moviegoers on remakes to continue just a little longer.
Waking up with a gunshot wound, a mysterious man (Yoon Kye-Sang, Golden Slumber, The Outlaws) has no memory of who he is or where he came from, but soon finds himself transported into someone else’s body every twelve hours. Confused and hunted down at every turn, it’s a race against the clock as he pieces together clues about his identity and any connection between the seemingly random body-swaps he is experiencing.
