We al know who Bruce Willis is, and we all love what he has done in the past, but nowadays is hard to recognize him and is sad to witness his decadence, accepting to participate in any kind of cinematic niches only to cash the check showing his face to rely on the legacy, not caring over the quality and putting the minimal effort on his performances. Is sad but is life, nothing last forever and everyone´s prime fades away with age. Is like when you love a band that is been around for over 30 or 40 years and when you get the tickets to finally see them live, none of those old grandpas in the stage are the kids you worshiped. Same happens with movie stars and Willis is not that young man anymore who saved the Nakatomi plaza 30 years ago.

Survive the Night is an action thriller about two thugs, who after get wounded in a failed robbery attempt, burst into a doctor’s house seeking for attention for their wounds, taking the doctor´s family as hostages, with the bad luck that the patriarch of the family is none other than Bruce Willis.

A low budget production, with minimum scenarios and a lazy setting of the story, filled with lame and stupid situations, lacking of the emotion and the tension that the story was demanding to have. The villains are flawless, and didn’t seem to be dangerous or scary at any moment, and the action is nothing that deserves to be remembered.

Willis spends the whole movie putting angry faces and waiting for the hour to finish the shooting to go back to the city to visit his girlfriends and mistresses, because he obviously didn’t care about the filming. All the weigh of the film relies on the shoulders of Chad Michael Murray, who´s the real hero of this forgettable flick. He seems excited of working with an icon as Willis, but his talent is not big enough to carry the weight of a movie over his shoulders.

Willis on his prime would have killed the bad guys of this flick in 2 minutes, but unfortunately, times changes, and not always for the best, and the biggest virtue of this flick is that only last around 85 minutes, long enough to enjoy it and later forget it and keep in the drawer of oblivion for the rest of eternity next to the Steven Seagal movies of the last decade.
