TACFEST 2024 Review: WHITE DRAGON (Dragón Blanco) Short film: Hooking trip to a violent underworld

White Dragon presents a tale of misfits making their way through a hostile underworld, using as unique toool for survival their immoral way of living, the plot revolves around Salvador, a real estate speculator and low-level drug dealer, leads a group of gangsters using a Chinese restaurant as a cover. The truculent past of one of the members of this small-time gang will endanger his business and their own lives.

Rodrigo E. Marini Valsechi and David Santamaría González teamed up on the director´s chair to grip the spectator into a sordid universe frequented by characters of the worst kind, where treachery and a past that could never be left behind could become the easiest road to meet their maker.

The short film is virtous on hooking the audience into the story, shocking them with its grity and raw representation of violence, disposing some well elaborated action sequences on the screen that comes from hand to hand combat to ballistic action.

This Spanish production was produced by Black Fiction Producciones, Barrios Producciones, and JAR Producciones, the cast was asembled by Rodrigo Poisón, Alberto Jo Lee, Carolina Bona, Ignacio Nacho, José María Rodríguez Ramos, Emilio Linder, María Kosty, Chen Lu, Marcos Zan, Tadashi Ito, Angel Pan, Arjun Martín Chen, Abi Power, even including to boxing legend Sergio «Maravilla» Martínez.

White Dragon (Dragón Blanco) will be competing for the Quixote awards among many other international productions in the upcoming TOLEDO ACTION FEST and EXPO that will be held in the city of Illescas (Toledo, Spain) from May 15 to 17, 2024.
