TEKKEN: BLOODLINE Enters The Netflix Arena With A Series Teaser Trailer

The first trailer for animated series Tekken: Bloodline now running online marks only the latest we’ve seen from a studio based on the hit Namco fighting game saga. The show hails from Bandai Namco Studios, and production team remains unannounced at the moment, as does an official premiere date.

“Power is everything.”

Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.

1998 saw an animated feature take shape long prior to the well-received reception of Tekken: Blood Vengeance in 2011. It’s one of my favorite films and remains signature of what’s possible for the franchise should a director come on board for another live-action treatment that could far surpass Rapid Fire director Dwight H. Little’s 2011 Jon Foo starrer, and the invariably more conceptually lowbrow direct-to-disc sequel from Ballistic: Ecks VS. Sever helmer Wych Kaos; Both live-action treatments are exemplary of how wasted opportunities have been in the live-action department and at that rate, I’m actually glad nothing materialized from producer Steven Paul’s reported 2015 progression with another reboot. The longer the wait, the better, methinks. In the meantime, Tekken: Bloodline seems fitting for now.
