It’s been close to four years since Deadpool landed director Tim Miller on the radar for all comic-con and cult fandom. After choosing to move onto bigger-scale projects with the likes of James Cameron on board to produce a new Terminator movie for today’s audiences, it’s safe to say Miller has certainly found his calling.
The biggest testament of this, of course, will arrive with the November 1 release of Terminator: Dark Fate, officially taking the wheel for the longstanding sci-fi franchise after Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day became a landmark box office hit in 1991.
The first official poster arrived on Wednesday encompassing the return of actress Linda Hamilton back into familiar territory as alpha female Sarah Connor, locked and loaded and joined by actresses McKenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes, and with actors Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta, and of course, action legend and franchise mainstay, former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Previous coverage hinted this particular installment as the final chapter of the longstanding apocalyptic time-traveling cyborg saga. I’m a little skeptical as to if this will remain true since a film’s closure has never stopped Hollywood from re-engaing an IP, and with The Terminator being one of the most profitable for the legacy it bears in cinema.
For now, we have Terminator: Dark Fate to chalk in, a November 1 release, and a teaser trailer to help inagurate the online chatter for the next six months. Alas, check it out above and @ us on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook and let us us know what you think of the new Terminator: Dark Fate trailer.
