Actor Okada Junichi is quite on the go from the start of the year. He’s currently reunited with Sekigahara director Harada Masato for an adaptation of Burning Sword, while the summer looks to set forth an audience for his latest action comedy, The Fable, directed by Eguchi Kan.
Okada dons the title role from a script by Watanabe Yusuke (Attack On Titan 1 and 2, GANTZ, Joker Game), based on Minami Katsuhisa’s award-winning 2014 manga about a killer birthed into his craft from childhood, now assigned to lay low in Osaka under a new alias.
Also starring are Kimura Fumino, Sato Koichi, Yamamoto Mizuki, Yasuda Ken, Yagira Yuya, Mukai Osamu and Bleach and Blade Of The Immortal actor Fukushi Sota for the film’s June 21 release from Shochiku.
