The road to director John Farrelly’s low-budget horror thriller, The Ghost (An Taibhse) has been a rewarding one. Nearly four years since it began production while staring down Covid-19 lockdown hurdles and after landing on our radar with festivals in its sights, the movie now has an official trailer ahead of its Irish release.
Amid the barren landscape of post-famine Ireland, a father and daughter struggle to survive the brutal winter as caretakers of a remote mansion, only to be driven to the edge of sanity by the horrors lurking within.
The Ghost (An Taibhse) marks the world’s first-ever Irish horror film spoken in Gaelic, and is currently being repped worldwide for sales by Toronto-based genre specialists Raven Banner and Firebook Entertainment.
The film stars Tom Kerrisk and Livvy Hill, and is exec produced by six-time Academy Award-nominated director and screenwriter Jim Sheridan (In The Name Of The Father, Get Rich Or Die Trying, The Secret Scripture).
