Fede Alvarez is at the helm for the latest rousing push for upcoming thriller, The Girl In The Spider’s Web. Following suit from David Fincher’s inaugural 2011 film revamp of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Emmy-winning actress Claire Foy fronts the sequel from a script by Alvarez, and co-scribes Jay Basu and Steven Knight.
Foy is joined by actor Sverrir Gudnason as both the elusive tough-as-nails cult heroine and computer hacker, Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist who find themselves embroiled in a web of espionage, cybercrime and government corruption. There’s not much else to the plot at hand but the reveal of actress Sylvia Hoeks seems intriguing to the matter.
Rounding out the cast are Lakeith Stanfield, Stephen Merchant, Claes Bang, Christopher Convery, Synnøve Macody Lund and Vicky Krieps for the film’s November 9 release.
