THE HARDER THEY FALL Lands Idris Elba For The All-Black Western Revenge Pic
They Die By Dawn helmer Jeymes Samuel is going two-for-two in western features with his upcoming sophmore offering, the July-announced The Harder They Fall for Netflix. He’s making the move now with Idris Elba (Beasts Of No Nation) who joins actor and musician Jonathan Majors (The Last Black Man In San Francisco) for the new western pic being penned by Samuel and writer Boaz Yakin.
The all-black Western is the story of when outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that the man (Idris Elba) who killed his parents two decades ago is being released from prison, he reunites with his gang to track his enemy down and seek his revenge.
Producing the film are Samuel, producers Jay-Z, James Lassiter and Lawrence Bender. Samuel, also known as The Bullitts, previously collaborated with Jay-Z on The Great Gatsby soundtrack and will re-team with Jay-Z to write and produce original music for this film as well.
