THE HIT LIST: May 27, 2019

It’s Sunday as I’m writing all of this and operating on only four hours of sleep as we speak as I’ve put together this Hit List – I totally blame John Wick for that… Good times!

Clockwise from top left: Suo Liu, Ilyana Eberhardt, LeRoyal Tutt, Gabriella Corvina, Evan Dane Taylor, Kai Ferris, Nadine Theron, Troy Castaneda, Maria Tran, Ben Van Huis.

Now it’s time to serve up some more lip service with The Hit List, firstly with a neat round of stunt performance, training and demo work from Yessenia Cossio, Chris Bogdanski, Brian Vigier, Amanda McLeod, Leon Ngo, LeRoyal Tutt, William Bitter, Erin Haus, Travis Ross, Shawn Daniels, Joshua Wade, Mami Spéede Ito, Phillip Wainwright, Tyler Street, Jeffrey Mayfield, Ashley Landrieu, Travis Voisard, Troy Castaneda, Patrick Chu, and Nadine Theron. Following that are reels from fight choreographer and stunt performer Michel Quach, and a pair of recent Emmy nomination reels from stunt coordinators Thom Williams and Stuart Thorp.

Next up are a few teasers from groups I just discovered over the weekend. First up is from RQ Studio out of Malaysia with an enticing little thriller titled Happy Birthday Sulaiman about a birthday tragedy. The second takes us out to Finland with a teaser for Simulated from JRinne Films.

Bronwin October recently dug up a little practice bit with DeVille van Niekirk over in South Africa. That one is first up for our raft of fights and films with Kai Ferris sharpening up his craft with Ben Van Huis, Ermias Baraki and Owen Hu throwing down for Frappe Mortelle, Aaron Toney donning Black Panther for a pre-viz concept JAM sesh, Alvon Junior and Maria Tran getting into a Tunnel Tussell for Silver Harvest and Phoenix Eye, and a moment of Ang Lee-inspired comedy schtick over at Art School Dropouts with Stephanie Pham and Joey Min.

The antics continue with a reenactment of a Jackie Chan classic from Prateek Parmar’s channel while Younes Boutinane gets it in with a pair of recent vids from his channel with Amine Gabdou, and with Maxime Ecoiffier and Thibault Gassman. Another pair hails from Gabriella Corvina with Female Fight Club and Supply Run before Big Beast Band Productions steps in the arena with Hit And Run, Cedric Tellier cleans house in Dojo, and Corridor Digital mashes it up with Jon Snow Wick.

Evan Dane Taylor and Suo Liu offer up their own reenactment of a Hong Kong classic from Jim Ng while Jesse Liskola and Arman Ansari show each other what they’re made of for director Mikko Lopponen, and David Vuong takes on an Unsafe Passage with Anthony Duong for Silver Harvest. Last and far from least is Star Wars: The Awakening, from director Wayne Tan in his latest collab between Little Works Productions and JKHH Films.

Clockwise from top left: Mami Spéede Ito, Michel Quach, Bryan Vigier, Maxime Ecoiffer, Yessenia Cossio, Younes Boutinane, Travis Voisard, Lauren Nguyen, Patrick Chu, Jeffrey Mayfield
