THE HIT LIST: September 30, 2019

The Man Going Nowhere
Simplicity Pictures

I’m eager for a night out later this week if I can make it happen. It would be my fourth night out with friends this year too so, it’s sorely needed.

For now, time for another pitch of some awesome stunt reels and action performance content from around the web. There’s more than a load of gems here to start with and that especislly goes for action star favorite, choreographer and performer Tim Man.

Following that are reels featuring the explosive talents of Lauren Mary Kim, Patrick Chu, Niahlah Hope, Luciano Arnieri, Jen Bennett, Jeff Karr, Angela Sippel, Jarmin Runes, Milena Brewster, Caleb Cole, Brandy Lewis, Zac Andianas, Anna Puig, Donald Brooks Jr., Kat Redner, Jacob Pattison, Nikki Tomlinson, Oscar Casellas, Karina Beverly Ho, Alejandro Gil, Jacqueline Rosenthal, Tristan McConnell and Chole Bruce, with a fight choreography medley by Robert Dill, and a team reel by Legionarius Stunts.

Folks attending New York Comic-Con this week will have a chance to catch up with the likes of the Hit List regulars at Kamen Ramen Studios. They’ll be hosting a panel event this Friday discussing their projects including one such fan favorite series based on Power Rangers, which is something Kim and his cohorts have played with for a while now. Part one of this concept is now online with Moses Opawumi’s Red Ranger in full effect, and the trailer for Amanda Cass’s Yellow Ranger short is available just below next to Re:Anime’s upcoming Batman Beyond fan short (tacked along with an exciting update regarding the Avatar fan project).

The aforementioned Milena Brewster kicks off the Fights And Films segment with a parking lot piece opposite Hector Melgoza while sound editor Epic Jax is back with another client offering courtesy of his channel. The remainder of the playlist includes uploads by Tyler Williams, Amy Sturdivant, Andrew Franklin, Daniel Bodlak, Corey Pierno, Kai Ferris, Peter Jang at Simplicity Pictures, Stuart Williamson, Rustic B. and Omar Zaki with a dueling pair of action comedy shorts, Matt Philiben’s rollicking action comedy short series Gentlemen And Violence, YDT Nepal with The Target, and Art School Dropouts with a two-part kung fu-loaded endeavor with Sifu Sharif Bey and action legend Robert Samuels in Duel.

Rounding out the playlist are the latest offerings by Pinoia Filmes, Kirk Jenkins’ own explosive Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow pre-visual concept, a Jackie Chan fight classic re-enactment from Singapore’s own JKHH Films, Bat In The Sun’s hard-hitting Flashpoint Batman V. Killmonger (the talk segments begin at 4:50) and director David Wayne Smith’s award-winning 48-hour project, The Unexpectables, followed by Elegant Screenworks’ Swedish police thriller, Wait For Backup, and Red Phoenix Films with the newly-released threequel installment of the Kiwami fan series inspired by the Ryu Ga Gotoku games.

Enjoy!
