Martin Scorsese’s new mob epic, The Irishman, is currently on its select theatrical run and will soon stream on Netflix beginning November 27. At the forefront of it all is actor Robert DeNiro, cast in the title role and joined by an ensemble that also has Joe Pesci and Al Pacino shepherding one of the more fascinating tales of the last century, all based on a true story.
It’s also running at three-and-a-half hours and has had a stellar festival premiere this year prior to its release. The intriguing and not-so-stellar dialogue driven as of late by Scorsese on Marvel and his perceptions of its impact on cinema notwithstanding, The Irishman still stands to gain something positive from its rollout before long.

Not all films can afford a 3.5 hour duration – I have my hopes though. But that’s another chat.
For now, The Irishman has clearly earned its industry pull for what it’s worth, and I look forward to actually sitting down with this one as rare as it is to take time to myself these days. Netflix unveiled the final trailer above and it’s more than satisfying on teasing what’s to come.
