Set to arrival across all digital platforms is The Last Assassins, a new sci-fi thriller from director James Anthony Usas. The film stars newcomer Athena Park (Lady Ada’s Secret Society) along with Josh Bainbridge (The Boy In The Woods) and Lorna Burke (Lifechanger).
With Earth locked in a new dark age following a radioactive catastrophe, a young woman is forced to flee the city when her father is brutally murdered by masked marauders demanding to know her whereabouts. Her bodyguard guides her to safety through the fog shrouded badlands in search of a family she never knew existed.
Usa makes his feature debut on the new thriller following his work as former set designer and concept artist whose credits include Star Trek: Discovery and whose inspirations include Blade Runner, Terminator and Mad Max. Usas co-wrote the pic alongside Jonathan Hlibka and Ryan Keller (Poor Agnes) who produced the film in North Bay, Ontario through their production company Other Animal Entertainment, Inc.
The Last Assassins had its World Premiere at the 45th edition of Fantasporto. Jinga Films and 4Digital Media will release the film in the U.S. on August 18.
