The Legend of the Ring Kinnikuman Makes a Triumphant Return to celebrate its 40th Anniversary in a new Animated Series

 

A visual teaser with Kinnikuman raising his fist in the air, was the powerful image that announces that the iconic character created by duo Yudetamago, consisting of writer Takashi Shimada and artist Yoshinori Nakai, is set to make a triumphant return in a new animated series that will commemorate its 40th anniversary.

Known in the west as Ultimate Muscle, the original manga series was originally ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from May 1979 to March 1987, however, such a legendary series couldn´t stay in the shadows for long, and in November 2011 was relived to enter into a new era, where it was published in Shueisha’s web magazine Shuu Play News, where it continues to be serialized up to this day.

The original animated series premiered in April 1983 from Toei Animation and ran until October 1986, spawning some animated sequels , including some animated movies and even some spin-off series, that  contributed to build a fascinating universe that is been carried its legacy for 40 years.

Without more further information about  the project, besides the teaser poster released this Friday in a new twitter account of the franchise, this new animated series will be a perfect rejoice for old fans and a great opportunity for a new fandom to arise and discover one of the bigget classics of japanese manga and anime.
