THE NIGHT COMES FOR US Sells Worldwide!
Just six months away from principal photography, actors Joe Taslim and Yayan Ruhian, and fight choreographer Iko Uwais are running the numbers on the action sequences for producer Gareth Evans’s latest return to the set with director Timo Tjahjanto for upcoming martial arts crime thriller The Night Comes For Us. But even so, the prospects for the folks at Indonesia’s PT Merantau Films and L.A.’s XYZ Films are looking brighter and brighter.
Toward the last leg of this month’s event at the American Film Market, XYZ Films have apparently closed distribution deals worldwide for the upcoming film, according to a new report from Screendaily on Wednesday, with rights sold to eOne in the UK, Madman in Australia and New Zealand, Koch Media in Germany, Wildside in France and HGC in China. Also, further deals were closed for Shooting Stars in the Middle East, Daisy in South Korea, Pictureworks in India, and multi-territorial rights for Apsara in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
The latest in a slate of films for both XYZ and PT Merantau between now and the next couple of years, The Night Comes For Us sees actor Taslim taking the lead role as a mob enforcer who returns to his crime family in Jakarta only to get caught in a world of betrayal and chaos as the Triad engineers its bloody campaign of expansion. Ruhian and Uwais will be returning to familiar territory in Evans’ Spring release, The Raid 2: Berandal.
Tjahjanto‘s newest Indo-Japanese co-directorial action horror thriller with Kimo Stamboel, Killers, is currently in post production for a release this February.

hoping Raid 2 makes it world wide.
this is the kind of stuff i like to hear and see.
not good movies like KL Gangster 2 not getting international release and they start to complain people pirate.
why shouldn't they?
give people what they want and you get what you want!
