Gentosha’s Kazuhiko Takano book series is where the bet is at for Assassination Classroom 1 & 2 helmer Eiichiro Hasumi with The Sun Does Not Move.
Tatsuya Fujiwara, fresh off of his latest title outing in manga adaptation threequel, Kaiji: Final Game, leads the espionage adventure thriller based on two books from the aforementioned series.
Penned by Tamio Hayashi, Fujiwara is joined by Ryoma Takeuchi as agents of industrial spy organization “AN Tsuushin”, who find themselves up against a conspiracy involving a corporate and political power struggle over innovative solar energy technology. (SIDEBAR: I’m pretty sure it has something to do with whatever blip appears as a glowing dot in our protagonist’s chest, but…I digress).
Also starring are Han Hyo-joo (Illang: The Wolf Brigade), Byun Yo-han (Mr. Sunshine), Hayato Ichihara (Three Nobubagas) and Sara Minami (Iwane: Sword Of Serenity) among others for the film’s May 15 release in Japan.
