If you had to choose between saving your family and saving your soul, which would you pick? If you’d rather not answer and instead would prefer to see what someone else chooses, you might want to watch the premiere of The Whittler on October 16th.
Besides answering the above decision, the film stars former WWE wrestler Al Snow, John Wells, and Sarah Cleveland. The film is described as a neo-gothic thriller. However, I saw a caption that describes the film as “a neo-gothic horror movie with redneck bullies versus a hillbilly ghost,” which sounds more like a comedy to me.
That could be the case as The Whittler also will be the debut film of comedians Catfish Cooley, Andrew Conn, and Gerard Haran. The trailer definitely did not give off the comedic vibe though, which you can check out just beneath the following:
Alexandra is an 11-year-old girl who lives with her parents in a 200-year-old inn, and she can see ghosts. She has a ghost friend named Phebe who plays with her on a daily basis. Recently, however, a new ghost has come to haunt the Inn, and Phebe has forbidden Alexandra to go near or even talk with him. Tonight, a band of rednecks decides to rob the Inn after a series of lucrative Christmas parties. Phebe wakes up Alexandra to hide from them, however, her parents are taken hostage. Against Phebe’s wishes, Alexandra asks the new ghost if he can help save her parents, but what will he want in exchange?
