TOKYO REVENGERS 2: BLOODY HALLOWEEN ARC: Tsutomu Hanabusa’s Live-Action Manga Sequel Teases Two-Part 2023 Blitz!

It was back in July when Warner Bros. Japan teased a sequel to Tsutomu Hanabusa’s hit adaptation of Ken Wakui’s gangbuster manga, Tokyo Revengers. As of Tuesday, the studio is staying steady with a brief, brand-new teaser signaling the sequel’s two-part 2023 rollout titled Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween Arc, with the first part set to arrive in Spring titled “Fate” and the second being “Decisive Battle” by the Summer.

Izumi Takahashi sat in once more to pen the screenplay for the sequel which sees actor Takumi Kitamura reprising his role as 26-year old Takemichi Hanagaki, who discovers a time portal and uses it to travel back to high school to save Hinata Tachibana (Mio Imada) the only woman he’s ever loved from being murdered in the present day. That task ultimately found him retracing old steps and undoing past mistakes to climb the ranks of teen gangster hierarchy, a plot that eventually folds right into current events as our ill-gotten time-traveling would-be hero now finds himself battling to save Hinata’s life yet again.

Kitamura and Imada will be joined by Yosuke Sugino, Yuki Yamada, Gordon Maeda and Hiroya Shimizu, Hayato Isomura, Shotaro Mamiya, and Ryo Yoshizawa, all returning from the first film. The studio also displayed a brand new teaser poster below featuring Kitamura, beaten and bruised and in all smiles to help amp up sequel excitement.

Exact dates remain pending so stick around as we try to keep up with the news on this one.
