Trailer: SMALL, SLOW BUT STEADY Wins The Fight In Sho Miyake’s New Boxing Drama!

Having already scored rave reviews among critics in the past year, director Sho Miyake’a new boxing drama is hitting the screens in Japan with actress Yukino Kishii leading the way for Small, Slow But Steady. The film is based on the life of early 2010s deaf boxing sensation Keiko Ogasawara, and also stars Tomokazu Miura along with Shinichiro Matsuura who also trained the actress in real life.

A hearing-impaired woman with dreams of becoming a professional boxer due to the pandemic is threatened closure of her boxing club and the illness of its ageing president, who has been her biggest supporter, push her to the limit.

I actually learned about this film on social media and read some insightful bits over at The Japan Times and it’s a fun read. Check it out along with the trailer below!
