Signature Films, LLC has re-teamed with Dave Bautista and longtime manager Jonathan Meisner’s Dream Bros. Entertainment for new action thriller, Traphouse. The team previously partnered on the 2018 action film Final Score.

Developed by Bautista with a script by Gary Scott Thompson (Universal’s Fast And Furious franchise), Traphouse centers on an undercover DEA agent and his partner who embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious, and surprising group of thieves: their own rebellious teenagers who have begun robbing from a dangerous Cartel, using their parents’ tactics and top-secret intel.

The deal was negotiated by Signature’s Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel and Fourth Wall Management’s Jon Huddle; Craig Emanuel (Paul Hastings) on behalf of Thompson; CAA and Jay Rosenthal on behalf of Dream Bros.

“Traphouse is a project that we’ve been working on for years.” noted Bautista in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be working with Marc and his team at Signature to bring it to life, and in Gary, we’ve found the perfect writer to infuse our original fast paced action movie with tons of heart.”

Marc Goldberg commented “We could not ask for more collaborative creative partners. Having had prior success working with Dave and Jonathan, we’re excited to help grow their vision and make their next big cinematic experience come to life. We are equally thrilled to have Gary Scott Thompson, the creator of one of the most successful and longest running action franchises of all time, on board. We look forward to bringing this exhilarating and heartfelt story to the big screen.”

Bautista launched Dream Bros. in 2019 with Meisner, setting off their first release with STX’s upcoming action comedy, Spy, which has since pushed back to a 2020 date. The actor is also known for the role of Drax in Marvel/Disney’s Infinity Saga film series a la Guardians Of The Galaxy which still has a third film in development.

Other film credits include Bushwick, Stuber, Yuen Woo-Ping’s Master Z: Ip Man Legacy, and Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix action horror, Army Of The Dead.
