My own knowledge of The Scorpion King franchise really only dates back to The Mummy 2 and Dwayne Johnson’s titular prequel thereafter. Beyond that, I haven’t paid much mind, though clearly the fans have even as the lead actors have rotated for the title role several times – the latest, The Scorpion King: Book Of Souls, hailing actor Zach McGowan who also stars in Universal 1440’s latest Death Race film.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is proudly hoisting this entry to home audiences this October, serving up another share of fantasy action and Egyptian warrior mythos. It also stars Nathan Jones (Jet Li’s Fearless) has actress Peral Thusi and sword-and-shield genre fave, Spartacus series and 300: Rise Of An Empire co-star Peter Mensah in full view of the trailer while fans may also be keen on seeing budding action star and actress Mayling Ng who has been prolific in teasing her role on social media following her fan fare progression since Lady Bloodfight starring Amy Johnston, and Wonder Woman with Gal Gadot.
The legendary Scorpion King returns for an epic adventure in the latest action-packed film in the franchise. In ancient Egypt, the evil warlord, Nebserek (Mensah), discovers a cursed sword that makes the one who wields it more powerful with every soul it strikes down. Determined to stop his power from growing, the Scorpion King (McGowan) joins forces with Tala (Thusi), the Nubian Princess; Amina, a mysterious woman with a magical and tragic secret; and her golem guardian (Jones) to find the one thing that can defeat Nebserek: the Book of Souls.
Rounding out the cast are Katy Louise Saunders Howard Charles and Inge Beckmann.
Don Michael Paul directs Scorpion King: Book of Souls, arriving onBlu-ray combo pack, DVD, Digital and On Demand on October 23, 2018 from Universal 1440 Entertainment. On the same day, Scorpion King: The Complete Collection will also be available on Blu-Ray and DVD, comprised of Book Of Souls and all four preceding titles: The Scorpion King starring Dwayne Johnson, The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior with Michael Copon, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption starring Victor Webster, and The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power.
