Your Next Viewing: A Night in the MORGUE Will Give You Chills

Sometimes when I am watching a film or TV show, I wonder where that booth was on Career Day. I don’t remember anyone talking to me about how to become a blood splatter technician à la Dexter, or an engineer like Jigsaw, or a morgue attendant. Ah, the paths not taken. Sorry, my unchosen career paths are not the point. The point of this article is to talk about Well Go USA Entertainment’s latest release MORGUE which, despite my opening, does not focus on a morgue attendant, but it does take place in one.

The film opens with Diego Martinez arguing with his girlfriend and being teased because he says he does not have gas money to drive her friend home. Diego eventually takes a job as a security guard at, you guessed it, a morgue. Well, that should be easy, right? All he has to do is stay alert and make sure that no one breaks in…but what if someone wants to get out? What follows is a creepy night, as we watch the eerie things that happen to Diego at this no-so-easy gig.

Written and directed by Hugo Cardozo, Morgue is his first film, and to make it even scarier, it is based on real events. Ooh, I just got chills.

Films based on true stories are always fun for me; did they actually happen in the way that is being shown? Memory can be a tricky thing especially when someone is scared or when it comes to trying to accurately recall out of the ordinary events. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, I’m just saying that it can make the movie even creepier which is what happens in this film.

This film was released on May 11 and is now available on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD.
