Scott Eastwood Pulls Into FAST 8
When you hear the name, Scott Eastwood, you’re hearing of someone whose about to have a really great year in film. The Suicide Squad co-star recently lined up a few starring roles in titles such as Overdrive and Joel Souza’s sci-fi crime thriller, Crown Vic, and now it appears that he’ll be partaking in another tentpole film with Fast 8 under director F. Gary Gray.
Universal Pictures took to social media on Monday to make it official as per the post below.
Actor Kurt Russell’s “Mr. Nobody” first appeared in last year’s billion dollar club hit, Furious Seven under James Wan. Joined by stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, Russell’s “Mr. Nobody” was the leader of a covert ops unit aimed at retrieving a device called “God’s Eye” and using it to take out co-star Jason Statham’s bloodthirsty lonewolf villainous role, Deckard Shaw, and the goonsquad working in cahoots with him.
Eastwood’s role will be an original one as so stated by the post; To what capacity as “protégé” is unknown (Variety reports he’ll be a new member of Diesel’s team in the film), but the eighth will be the first of a new trilogy, and so there’s a good chance that the role will be recurring provided that Fast 8 does well at the box office.
There have been photos circulating of the film’s shoot in Iceland, but the film doesn’t officially commence rolling for its actors reportedly until next month as Diesel completes his current work with filmmaker D.J. Caruso on xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage. Eastwood stars along with the cast of regulars along with Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Christopher Bridges and Tyrese Gibson along with newly added Kristofer Hivju and Charlize Theron for the film’s April 14, 2017 release.
