The Rock Will Tackle DOC SAVAGE For Sony
I’m pretty glad that The Nice Guys helmer Shane Black’s idea of killing off Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon 2 never came to fruition. Those are just my two cents on the matter while nowadays fans are looking forward to what he has coming up for his take on Predator for Fox, needless to say, and so am I.
In the meantime, the word now is that Black’s 2013 involvement in the development of an adaptation of the 1933 Street & Smith pulp magazine publication, Doc Savage now has Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson set to star. Johnson himself took to social media to let the fans know what was up in the following post:
You wouldn’t be alone in wondering just what the heck is keeping the actor on his toes with so many titles to bare. He’s fresh off of filming Baywatch and now he’s got the forthcoming game adaptation Rampage and a sequel to San Andreas now brewing, as well as the upcoming TV series, Boost Unit on the way, and the China-set action thriller, Skyscraper and a vehicle at Universal for The Janson Directive to name a few. He’s filming scenes for F. Gary Gray’s Fast 8 at the moment and he also has Jumanji, as well as Shazam waiting in the wings for the role of Black Adam, and so I’m hard pressed to believe he’s close to finished.
I think I’ll have to get my mind ready every day for another article about The Rock. Too hilarious.
