Smrz's 24 HOURS TO LIVE Rounds Out With Hauer, Cunningham, Anderson And More
Production has since commenced this summer for stunt professional Brian Smrz’s latest stint in the director’s chair, 24 Hours To Live. Underway in South Africa, the film is already the prospect of a new wave of immersive theatrical entertainment by way of Barco Escape with Ethan Hawke starring as a career assassin who gets killed on the job, and is subsequently resurrected by his employer for a second chance at redemption.
This week, the film is officially adding actor Rutger Hauer to the roster which now includes Common, actress Xing Qu and actor Paul Anderson. Zachary Dean wrote the script based on an original write-up by Ron Mita and Jim McClain, marking Smrz’s sophmore stint at the helm since his 2008 directorial debut, Hero Wanted (2008). Fully financing the movie is Fundemental Films whose respective chairman and international president, Mark Gao and Gregory Ouanhan are producing next to Thunder Road’s own Basil Iwaynk.
