A Third Chapter For JOHN WICK Is In The Works!
John Wick: Chapter 2 is heading to theaters next year in February and the hype is already in effect – I personally plan to see it with friends while I understand it may pretty much be every man for himself by the time tickets go on sale.
At any rate, something always felt more episodic about John Wick knowing there would be a sequel, and I wouldn’t really have been suprised if another followed. Apparently, so it is, says director Chad Stahelski to Collider who brought the issue forward to the solo helmer and prominent industry stunt professional at New York Comic Con over the weekend.
“The studio has asked us to put our heads together and see if we can come up with something. Winston’s [McShane] is a big part of the next one, so is Lance Reddick. We’ve got some ideas.”
The first film, released in 2014, which also starred Ian McShane as the owner of the assassins’ hotel known as The Continental, and actor Reddick as Charon the concierge, showcased actor Keanu Reeves as he ventured to his old former stomping grounds to kill off the people getting in the way of his retirement following the murder of his dog, a gift from his late wife. This time, our anti-hero is forced to come out of hiding once more to bury the past that now wants him dead. Stathelski discusses that a little more in a behind the scenes featurette released a few days ago courtesy of Fandango, while we are free to ponder whatever ideas Stahelski and his team may be mulling over for an ever hoepful and prosperous third outing.
