3 CHAMBERS FEST Launches In October With Live-Music, THE CROW w/ Shaolin Jazz And More In October!

Residents and consumers of music and genre cinema delights will find themselves in good company come the arrival of the inaugural 3 Chambers Fest in Wilmington, North Carolina. Hosted by Speller Street Films, the festival will be home to a fusion of hip-hop, martial arts, and anime, featuring live music performances and immersive film and art experiences, and more.

Per the announcement this Tuesday this week, 3 Chambers Fest commences on Friday, October 13, at Waterline Brewing Company with live performances by Solemn Brigham / Marlowe and Skyzoo live in concert. Advance tickets are now up for grabs at $10 with door prices at $20. Doors will open at 8:00pm with the show starting at 9:00 PM with opening performances by Wilmington hip-hop artists Louis. and MoeSOS DC.

Friday’s event is sponsored by Waterline Brewing Company and Brooks Pierce.

The following Saturday will see the newest edition of Can I Kick It? by local NC music duo Shaolin Jazz in their tenth year together for a live-scoring of The Crow at the Kenan Auditorium. Using a blend of hip-hop, soul, funk, and more, the duo’s music elements will serve as the backdrop for late screen legend Brandon Lee’s graphic novel-inspired portrayal of a musician reawakened a year after his death to avenge himself and his murdered fiancé.

Saturday’s event is sponsored by nCino and Corning Credit Union. Doors open at 6:00pm with the official start time at 7:00pm, beginning with a live martial arts demonstration by Cequence Henry a.k.a. Running Fist Ronin. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door, with $15 pricing for UNCW students.

Hailing from the vibrant musical landscapes of North Carolina, Solemn Brigham / Marlowe stands as an international rap luminary whose artistry has resonated with fans across the globe. Notably, his role as the vocalist for the renowned group Marlowe helped solidify his status as a creative force to be reckoned with.

From Brooklyn, NY, Skyzoo has been labeled a “new legend” which led to his albums being critically acclaimed by fans and critics alike. His storytelling has been commended by all walks of literary life, from hip hop royalty to university professors and everyone in between.

The Crow was first birthed in ink in 1989 by author James O’Barr. Produced by Dimension Films and released by Miramax, the Alex Proyas-directed actioner would be Lee’s final film following a fatal on-set accident. The film was released posthumously on May 13, 1994 to box office success and the subsequent production of direct-to-video sequels and a TV series.
