47 Ronin Unleashes Its Origins In The Animated Prequel Short, THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR

Crave hosted a brand new animated prequel shortfilm this week titled 47 Ronin: The Way Of The Warrior. The shortfilm comes as movie goers are less than two weeks away from the premiere of the forthcoming feature length samurai epic, 47 Ronin.

The film opened to some less-than-impressive numbers upon its premiere in Japan last week. But with any luck, things will change when it arrives in North America on December 25, 2014. And especially after all the money the studio spent on the film’s two-year production span, the 47 Ronin are going to need all the luck they can get, monsters and sorcery aside.
47 Ronin is directed by Carl Rinsch and stars Keanu Reeves along with Hiroyuki Sanada, Ko Shibasaki, Rinko Kikuchi and Tadanobu Asano.
SYNOPSIS:

Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to an action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.

As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

Helmed by director Carl Rinsch (THE GIFT), 47 Ronin is produced Scott Stuber (TED, IDENTITY THIEF), Pamela Abdy (IDENTITY THIEF, UPCOMING ENDLESS LOVE) and Eric Mcleod (MR. & MRS. SMITH, AUSTIN POWERS SERIES).
