A New Poster Signals Malaysia's Official Release Date For VIKINGDOM

Not much has been reported on for the upcoming fantasy epic, Vikingdom: The Blood Eclipse. The first teaser aired back in March with a last known date set for Russia in July, with a story based on Viking mythos with an unrelated spin on the iconic character, Thor, that sees the God Of Thunder as the main villain.

Since then, the official Facebook page has updated itself with several new set pictures and character photos. The official Youtube channel also granted its subscribers several character featurettes with the main cast, which you can view below, in addition to the new poster for the film to the left.
Vikingdom: The Blood Eclipse is directed by Yusry Abd Halim with a screenplay by James Coyne who recently co-directed Cung Le’s next, A Certain Justice with filmmaker Giorgio Serafini.
The film also stars Dominic Purcell, Craig Fairbass, Natasha Malthe, Jon Foo and Conan Stevens, and is currently set for release in Malaysia on September 12, 2013, pending a possible graphic novel publication as well.
Hopefully we will hear more distribution news in the months ahead.
SYNOPSIS:

In the midst of time comes the clanging of steel against steel, a collision of myth and history…. “Vikingdom”. Based on Viking legends and the epic poems they left as record, “Vikingdom” is a fantasy, action adventure about a forgotten king, Eirick, who was tasked with the impossible odds to defeat Thor, the God of Thunder.

Thor is on a mission to gather the key ancient relics – “Mjolnir” – his hammer from Valhalla, “Necklace of Mary Magdalene” from Mitgard and the “Horn” from Helheim. This needs to be accomplished before the Blood Eclipse, which happens once every 800 years, failing which, the pagan Viking Gods will never be able to rule and conquer mankind ever again.

Only one man can stop him… Eirick, the undead.
