Actress Shu Qi Goes Tomb Raider In The Latest Trailer For MOJIN: THE LOST LEGEND

The latest trailer for Wuershan’s Mojin: The Lost Legend is currently circulating online with tons of promise. Headlined with a stellar cast led by actress Shu Qi, the film encircles a story set in the 80’s about a former soldier, his partner, and an American archeologist who fall victim to a curse while infiltrating an ancient grave.

IMAX Corporation unveiled a press release last week on October 14 announcing the film’s IMAX release and theatrical date which you may read about below, though I imagine this one is being groomed for a release overseas as well, in which case, let’s hope!

IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX), together with IMAX China Holding, Inc. (“IMAX China”, HKG: 1970), today announced that the 3D action-adventure film Mojin-The Lost Legend – a co-production between Wanda Media Co. Ltd., Huayi Brothers Media Corporation and Beijing Enlight Pictures Co. Ltd. – will be digitally re-mastered in the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released in IMAX® theatres in China on Dec. 18.

Mojin-The Lost Legend, which is based on author Muye Zhang’s eight best-selling Chinese novels about a group of young treasure hunters, is directed by Wuershan (Painted Skin: The Resurrection) and stars Kun Chen, Bo Huang, Qi Shu, Angelababy and Yu Xia. The film is produced by Kuo-fu Chen.

“IMAX gained incredible momentum this year with Chinese hits and record box-office including within the last few months films like Monster Hunt and Lost in Hong Kong, and we look forward to continuing that success through the holiday season with Mojin-The Lost Legend,” said Greg Foster, Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment. “The suspenseful and visual nature of this film, combined with the Chinese cultural interest in treasure-hunting, makes Mojin-The Lost Legend a perfect fit for The IMAX Experience®. We could not think of a better way to culminate our 2015 film slate than partnering with our longtime partners Wanda and Huayi Brothers and new partner Beijing Enlight Pictures to bring this remarkable film to IMAX fans in China.”

The IMAX® 3D release of Mojin-The Lost Legend will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
