Arriving in time for China’s 80th anniversarial Victory Day is the new WWII historical action adventure, Against All Odds. The film is directed by Lau Ho-Leung and stars Han Geng and Mitchell Hogg, along with Soji Arai and Philip Ng, and follows the efforts of anti-Japanese guerilla fighters amid a 48-hour mission to rescue Hong Kong and trapped Allied Forces during the Japanese invasion, ultimately turning the tide of war.
Lau directs the film from a script he wrote with Frankie Tam, with Huang Jianxin (The Battle At Lake Changjin) exec producing. Actors Cheng Yongsheng and Danni Wang also star with the film slated for a September 3 theatrical release in China.
