Snowtown helmer Justin Kurzel‘s latest Shakespearan contribution, Macbeth, has already earned the praise and approval of critics and attendees at Cannes last month, and from the looks of the most recent clips, it’s easy to see why. Actor Michael Fassbender and actress Marion Cotillard take the lead in this new tale set in war-torn 11th century Scotland, centered on a king brought down by lust and ambition, and though this isn’t the first time a film has been adapted from this specific literary material, it surely lends plenty of lip service for the man in the director’s seat, especially since the two will be rejoining for Assassin’s Creed soon.
