Andrew Garfield Fights More Than One Battle In The New Trailer For HACKSAW RIDGE

Actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson may not be without controversy from time to time, but at least one other fact worth pointing out is that he’s at his best when on set. This time, The Passion Of The Christ and Braveheart helmer is back and noted behind the camera for Lionsgate’s latest release, Hacksaw Ridge, and with nothing short of uproaring responses from earlier test screenings with Andrew Garfield front and center.

SYNOPSIS:

HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of conscientious collaborator Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He believed the war was just, but killing was nevertheless wrong; he was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon. As an army medic, Doss single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. He was the first conscientious objector to ever earn the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The trailer is just spectacular and it’s worth checking out right now ahead of its November 4 release. Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths and Vince Vaughn also star.
