Five years after “Midnight Rambler,” director Josh Mabie and the Rogue Origin team are back with another fan-fueled offering to the Cowboy Bebop crowd this weekend with “Another One Bites The Dust.” Both shorts were created in a prequel vein leading up to the celebrated anime canon fans know and love, now with current bountyhead Faye Valentine brought into focus with none other than Faye Tamasa (Song Sung Blue, Station 19) in the role.
“Faye Valentine is such an interesting and multi-faceted femme fatale that is one of the most iconic women in the medium. It was an absolute joy to dive into the psychology of the character with Faye and try to bring such an iconic persona to life in live-action.” says Mabie in an announcement on Saturday.
“As someone who grew up kind of a tomboy, clumsily getting into trouble then strategically getting myself out of it, and overall just being a lone wolf at times – all of these aspects made portraying Faye Valentine feel authentic to me,” added Faye Tamasa who stars in the role. “Besides, I knew we had the best of the best when it came to cast and crew. That trust really allowed all of us to explore and create something together that was done out of pure joy.”
Tamasa is joined by Christopher Troy (The Odyssey, Shameless) and Seth Allyn Austin (The Rookie, Echo).
