Don Lee comtinues to be a welcome feat in the new year, punching and decapitating things in fine form as he heads up Badland Hunters, a sequel to Um Tae-hwa’s award-winning survival epic, Concrete Utopia which comes to Netflix on Janaury 26. Formerly titled “The Wilderness,” the actor is joined by director and stunt specialist Heo Myung-haeng who takes to the helm for his second time after the two wrapped up production on directing the upcoming fourth installment of “The Outlaw” franchise, The Roundup: Punishment.
Whereas the first film centered on the embattled survivors of a massive earthquake in a single-standing apartment building, the events of that film have since amped up the dystopia to a more global scale, coupled with an edgier, rousing tone fitting for Lee’s fanbase. Hence the following tagline: “The world has come to an end. The world calls upon the hunter.” That’s all we get for a story at this time along with the first official teaser which arrived on Monday as we await what comes next from Heo’s creative output. Also starring are Lee Hee-jun, Lee Jun-young, Roh Jeong-eui, and An Ji-hye from a script by Kim Bo-tong, and Kwak Jae-min.
